This session will outline the innovative Advancing Mental Health Equality Collaborative, a programme led by the Royal College of Psychiatrists' National Collaborating Centre for Mental Health (NCCMH). The collaborative involves 22 teams across the UK who, with quality improvement support from the NCCMH, are working to understand the needs of their populations and identify communities at risk of experiencing inequalities. Using a quality improvement approach, teams will be supported over three years to improve access, experience and outcomes of mental health care, support and treatment for those populations. Delegates will have the opportunity learn about the theory of the collaborative, hear from a team taking part as they describe their journey so far and gain an understanding of the importance of co-production and engaging local communities in this work.
