Psychological and somatic treatments in pregnancy: some recent developments

Treating severe mental illness in pregnancy is highly challenging because it requires effective interventions that take into account their reproductive safety whilst in the same time are adapted to the numerous pregnancy-induced psychological and physiological changes. The presenters will discuss the main psychological challenges for women with mental illness and how to approach them in psychotherapy, recent findings how pharmacokinetics of psychotropics are altered and whether we need to adapt medication management in pregnancy, and current evidence for the use of neurostimulation for depression in pregnancy.
