Target Audience: General/Community Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Trainees, Medical Students, Current and Future Neuropsychiatrists. This masterclass will cover identification and clinical management of the range of neuropsychiatric disorders commonly associated with acquired brain injuries (ABI), including cognitive, emotional and behavioural disorders such as post-stroke depression, anxiety and psychosis. In the last few years there has been an explosive growth of evidence in this area. Increasing recognition about the impact of poorly recognized neuropsychiatric complications on recovery and even survival, new evidence points towards pre-emptive therapeutic interventions in high-risk patient groups. In this clinically focused masterclass, frontline neuropsychiatrists from three NHS England funded Level 1 neurorehabilitation units will update the audience on the latest practice and research trends in the field of ABI/Neuro-rehabilitation and improve their awareness of rapidly changing service provisions in this area.
