Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, remote working was less common and the assumption was that most NHS roles were required in-person. However, as things changed, and assumptions were challenged, remote NHS working opportunities are on the rise. TEC Cymru research team have explored this change and have conducted several studies looking at the pros, cons and ideal models of NHS remote working. This talk will present some of these studies such as findings from an all-Wales working from home (WFH) study, a day in the life of series, and a 100% remote working study in Solent NHS Trust in England. TEC Cymru’s research and evaluation framework will also be presented, and discussed in terms of its suitability for digital.
This session will help you:
- Review the practicalities of delivering safe, good quality mental health care remotely
- Understand the role of a digital, remote working consultant psychiatrist
- Learn about a mix of study types and approaches on workforce specific areas, conducted in Wales and England during and after a pandemic.
- Learn about a new R&E framework, which is designed specifically for evaluating digital NHS services.
- Learn more about using quality improvement principles in digital research and evaluation.
