Overview
An eye-opening panel session with a combination of experts, advocates, and individuals with lived experiences to address the unique challenges and perspectives on the often under reported and stigmatised issues of food, body image and eating disorders within the communities of black or minoritised ethnic groups.
This session will address cultural influences on body image, barriers to diagnosis and treatment, the intersection of race and eating disorders, and strategies for culturally sensitive support and prevention. The panellists will foster understanding, awareness, and actionable insights to better address this important issue. This panel will be chaired by Dr Chukwuemeka Nwuba, editor of Eating Disorders Don’t Discriminate.
