Paul is an MRC Clinician Scientist Fellow at Newcastle University and a Consultant in Old Age Psychiatry at Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust. His research focuses on dementia with Lewy bodies, with a particular focus on prodromal diagnosis, disease pathophysiology and neuroinflammation. He is also interested in late onset mental health problems as prodromal presentations of neurodegenerative disease. Much of his research investigates fluid and imaging biomarkers in longitudinal clinical cohorts, along with clinical-post mortem correlation.
