This masterclass builds on the 2021 extensive review and update of guidance on the medical, nutritional and psychiatric management of patients with severe eating disorders across the age range, including the appropriate use of mental health legislation. The masterclass will be helpful both for trainees and for consultants who may be asked to assess and advise on management of emergencies relating to anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, type 1 diabetes. These scenarios are relevant to CAMHS, general adult, liaison and eating disorder psychiatrists.
