The Bipolar Commission found that psychiatrists and people with bipolar are asking for the same thing: an ongoing relationship between patient and clinician where the clinician is an expert in bipolar and works with them for years to manage the condition well. This session will explore the issues surrounding this much-neglected condition and the positive role of psychiatry in empowering people to live well. It will cover the steps we can all take so that people with bipolar can get quicker diagnosis and have access to specialist treatment and continuity of support. There will also be an update on the latest findings of the Commission: ‘Bipolar and Hypersexual Behaviour’.
