Music therapy: an introduction

Welcome to this module which introduces some basic information about the practice of music therapy in the UK. The module is in three sections:

Section 1: Background to music therapy.

Section 2: Music therapy approaches.

Section 3: Clinical vignettes and summary of evidence base.

We specifically look at:

• autism,
• schizophrenia,
• dementia.

Apart from the video examples which support this module, all clinical vignettes are fictitious and compiled from clinical experience, or have ethical consent and approval.
